Location(s):

Job details:

The need has arisen for a projects lawyer to join the Veolia team in Paris. This is an international role and you will be involved in a number of significant transactions on a global basis throughout Europe and other key countries.

Veolia Transport SA is Europe’s largest transport company and one of the leading global transport organisations. Its sphere of operations spreads from Europe to North and South America, the Far East and Australasia.

Veolia is recognised both nationally and internationally as an innovative, customer focused company that delivers innovative and creative transport solutions ranging from metros, ferries and super shuttle taxi services to city bikes and light and heavy railways.  It is engaged in a number of key long-term infrastructure projects on a PPP basis with key strategic partners.

As the success of the company continues, the need has arisen for a projects lawyer to join the team in Paris. This is an international role and you will be involved in a number of significant transactions on a global basis throughout Europe and other key countries.  This will be a challenging and demanding role and, whilst you will be working within a small team of lawyers, you will need to demonstrate the ability to work autonomously and creatively.

You will have at least 4 years’ PQE and a proven track record of working on complex international PPP/PFI projects (including also some experience of working with tenders and acquisitions). As such, it will be a pre-requisite that you have worked at a recognised international law firm or company. Applications are welcome from either French or English qualified lawyers or other lawyers from other backgrounds, but with the necessary level of project experience. Fluency in both English and French is essential.

Reporting to the Deputy International Legal Director, to succeed in this role you will need to be a self-starter who works well under supervision and also autonomously. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude to manage successfully a busy and varied workload, work as part of a team and have the confidence to interact with internal clients, the International Legal and Development team and to build relationships with them. Given the international focus to this role, national and international travel will be part of the role.
