The Firm

A global asset manager, with US $1tn under management, which takes a different approach to marketing. Known for its creative pricing strategies, this hugely profitable business achieves results for its clients, at a competitive rate. Australia HQ is located in Melbourne's Southbank, and is home to a tight-knit, growing team.

The Role

You'll be responsible for the full range of financial crime compliance issues, and will work closely with the legal and compliance team to protect the business from exposure. Day-to-day you'll likely:

  • Review, enhance and improve the framework encompassing AML/CTF/KYC
  • Act as a conduit between the front line, the broader legal & compliance team, and board/committee-level stakeholders on breaches and incidents
  • Review existing policies and procedures, working with the business to implement best practice and remediation
  • Play a key role in end-to-end compliance testing, including reporting to senior management
  • Contribute to a positive compliance culture through education and training
  • Manage regulator relationships
  • Find yourself running various compliance projects

The Ideal Candidate

As this is a senior role in the firm, you'll need to show that you've made big decisions autonomously, and demonstrate strong financial crime exposure. If you're interested in the role, amnd the following sounds familiar, our client would love to hear from you:

  • Degree in a relevant field (law, finance, commerce etc)
  • At least five years' experience in a financial services compliance function, and maybe some strong risk exposure
  • A practical understanding of AML, CTF, and KYC principles
  • Strong systems skills, and comfort in communicating verbally and in writing to a range of stakeholders
  • Asset management industry exposure, and solid Corps Act and AQUA rules knowledge
  • Great at working autonomously
