Our client is a world leading brand with offices all over the world. Due to continuous growth they are now looking to recruit an excellent Employment Lawyer to be based in either Germany, Netherlands or Belgium. You will be part of an international team of employment lawyers based in the US, Asia and Europe. Reporting directly into the General Counsel in the US, you will be responsible to provide advice on a broad variety of employment law issues, such as equality and diversity matters, disciplinary topics, hiring, terminations, data protection issues, and other various employment initiatives. You will also be expected to liaise and work closely with colleagues from other functions such as compensation and benefits, HR managers, staffing and recruiting professionals, etc. This role is not limited to a certain jurisdiction but you will be working on complex cross border employment questions in various jurisdictions.
You will be an excellent lawyer with top academic credentials qualified in a European jurisdiction with at least five years' employment law experience ideally gained at a top level international law firm and in an international in-house legal department. You will have experience in a local jurisdiction but also have dealt with employment law in an international context and different jurisdictions. You will have excellent English language skills. Fluency in French or German is a significant plus. You will be a good team player who is highly collaborative and flexible and an outstanding communicator with good influencing skills. You enjoy working in an international dynamic environment and have very good business acumen.
