You will be joining a team of 3 IP lawyers, covering all branding and marketing for the business, part of a much larger global legal team. You will ideally have trained at a top London firm, with between 1-2 years PQE in the IP team and have a broad range of contentious and non-contentious experience, particularly in branding and it would be advantageous if you have completed the Oxford IP Course.
You will be working with the Legal Manager: Intellectual Property Law, identify gaps in policy and system design, implementation or execution that are negatively impacting on the IP legal discipline, initiate action to address these issues considering the impact on suppliers and customers. For policies and systems within the role holder's authority, make the required changes. For others, escalate these issues to seek action and / or look for alternative solutions.
- Draft and negotiate (or supervise external lawyers drafting) agreements to document IP/Commercial transactions across all business units. This will include assisting with IP licences, marketing agreements, advertising contracts, contract templates, non-disclosure agreements, grading and inscription agreements, franchise agreements, internal agreements, website T&Cs, privacy policies, and other bespoke contracts;
- Assist the business in its assessment of, and decision-making in relation to, legal risk in relation to IP/Commercial transactions and help manage the legal risk and revenue generation as the business units expand by ensuring that these brands are protected, licensed and exploited consistently across all markets;
