Fantastic opportunity for a senior in house lawyer within the tech sector to join a small but high growth tech consultancy as their first hire and global General Counsel. The company has disrupted a traditional industry and achieved impressive growth in the UK, EMEA and the US.

This is a senior advisory role reporting to the Managing Director which will operate as a member of the senior management team and an executive committee. The core of the role will be putting a legal framework in place that supports their growth into alternative operating models including Software as a Service (SaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service(IaaS). You will have responsibility for the negotiation and drafting of IT and supplier contracts, service level agreements, advising on all aspects of data protection, intellectual property and corporate compliance. You will have budget to instruct external counsel where required.

You must have trained at a top City law firm before making the move in house, and possess experience of commercial contracts and intellectual property in a technology setting. You will need to be a minimum of 8-10 years PQE and be able to demonstrate a commercial and creative approach to legal advice. This role would suit a self-motivated and energetic legal business partner who can provide structure and lay the solid legal foundations that are required to underpin their significant growth aspirations. Knowledge and experience of SAAS and IAAS contracts would be an advantage.
