We are currently working with one of the worlds top Universities recruiting a Legal Council position.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of the top 10 universities in the world as a key member of their Legal Services Team and will be responsible for providing advice on a wide range of legal matters
These include providing legal advice on data related issues across the breadth of their activities including: privacy, data-sharing, drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising on agreements containing information law provisions, drafting and advising on complex data protection related documentation.
-The day-to-day provision of legal services and related functions within the Legal Services Team.
-Liaising and working with colleagues at all levels within the University and its subsidiary companies, including at senior management level, in the provision or procurement of legal advice in relation to a variety of aspects of law.
-Liaising with and instructing external solicitors and other related professionals as necessary to ensure best value.
-Monitoring relevant legislation, regulations, case law, directives and circulars and providing advice in relation thereto, and advising on and monitoring compliance with the University's obligations under legislation relating to the activities of the University and its constitutional documentation and its associated companies.
-Providing legal advice on data related issues across the breadth of the universities' activities
-Qualified solicitor or barrister. Essential Preferably with 4+ years' relevant post-qualification experience.
-Experience dealing with a range of legal issues on a self-standing basis.
-Experience of developing, writing and promulgating legal policy.
