An opportunity has arisen at one of the world's largest multinational mining companies for a Competition & Anti-Trust lawyer to join the UK legal team playing a vital role in supporting the Group's continued ambition to become a nimble, sustainable and technically astute operator. As part of the wider Group Legal team, this role will be responsible for providing specialist legal advice on key structural and behavioural competition law issues that affect the execution of the group's strategic plans.
Reporting to the Legal Principal (Competition & Compliance), you will be proactively undertaking group-wide and business unit-specific competition law risk assessments and providing specialist strategic advice across the Group's multiple business models, value chains and routes to market, including merger control and arrangements with government producer partners and joint ventures.
Ideally, you will be 3-5 PQE with strong post-qualification experience in a top city law firm and/or as an in-house counsel (in a large multinational). Experience as a Competition lawyer (specialising in EU/UK competition law) will be essential for the role, whilst having a good knowledge of broader compliance matters would be desirable. The ideal candidate will be a natural problem-solver and demonstrate strong business, analytical and decision-making skills, including the ability to act with commercial and technical acumen.
