The core focus for the role will be acquisitions of private companies in Europe that complement the existing business. However, the business will also be looking at a much broader range of potential targets from quite small private companies through to public companies and transactions (stock acquisitions are the usual, but also looking at asset acquisitions, minority investments and JVs) so there will be plenty of variety in the types of transactions that you would be expected to handle. Further, as the role is part of a relatively small M&A group globally you will also have considerable involvement in M&A in other parts of the world including Asia-Pacific and Latin America and support for U.S. transactions.
The culture is friendly and fast paced with bright, motivated people working across the business. There is a great retention rate of employees which is down to the environment, quality of work and career development opportunities.
This role will demand someone with both experience and maturity. You will ideally be UK qualified with at least 6PQE and have trained at a top tier law firm. In House experience would be useful but is not essential.
This is a unique opportunity for a corporate lawyer to lead on a wide variety of interesting and challenging M&A activity across Europe for a blue chip company.
Please note our advertisements use PQE/salary levels purely as a guide. However we are happy to consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary to fulfil the role.
